Sriramodantam falls into the category of laghukavyam or minor poetical composition. This minor kavya is a highly abridged version of Valmiki Ramayana and can be used as a tool to teach Vibhakti, Sandhi, Samasa etc. to beginners of Samskrtam. The author, in simple style, has narrated, in just 200 verses, the seven kandas of Ramayana that was expounded by sage Valmiki in 24000 verses. These verses are ideal for beginners of Sanskrit to get an exposure to Sanskrit literature.
